What is it
This non-statutory advice from the Department for Education in collaboration with the UK Council for Internet Safety (UKCIS) subgroup and the Samaritans, aims to support education settings to respond effectively to incidents involving harmful online challenges and onine hoaxes.
How to use it
You can use the guidance to help you:
- prepare in advance for any online challenges and hoaxes
- safeguard children and young people
- share information with parents and carers
- understand where to get further help and support
Who can use it
This advice is for designated safeguarding leads or equivalents and senior leadership teams in schools and colleges in England. Other educational settings may also find this guidance useful.
