How accessible is this website

We have built this website to be accessible with common assistive technologies and different ways of using websites.

This means:

  • You can move around and use most of the website without a mouse, by using a keyboard or assistive technology such as speech recognition or a screen reader

  • You can increase the font size or zoom in on content

  • You can change the colours or the fonts

We have also used plain English principles to make our content clear and easy to understand.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non accessible content

We know that parts of this website are not fully accessible.

  • Keyboard users are not able to hover over and select button and logos to play the game and across the web pages.

  • Screen readers are not alerted to pop up dialogue boxes which means they cannot access or read content.

  • There are issues with the main navigation panel which fails to hover for keyboard, mouse and touch users and the colours are not AA compliant.

  • Some buttons are missing text that tell screen readers what the button does.

  • The carousel in the Stay Safe section does not tell screen readers how many and what slide is being displayed.

  • Icons inside buttons are selectable, and should just be readable.

  • Dropdown menus and content doesn’t alert screen readers and keyboard users of content that is hidden.

  • There are some issues for screen readers and keyboard users in the game with closing pop ups, reading interactive content and automatic sound play.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

This website will be regularly reviewed with manual audits and by scans with an automated testing tool by our website provider.

We will work to correct any non-compliances as soon as possible.
